Hi,

We're upgrading to CM8 and planning to upgrade our H.323 9611G sets to the latest, 6.8.0. The catch is that we still have a lot of sets at 6.3116 and it seems that there are multiple upgrades required to get to 6.8.0.

6.3116 > 6.4014 > 6.6.1 > 6.8.0

The 6.8.0 file handles both the 6.6.1 and 6.8.0 upgrades with multiple reboots, but I'm at a loss for how to check the phone for FW 6.3116 and send to it the 6.4014 files if necessary. It would be nice to be able to have it all go in one script. 'IF $BOOTNAME' doesn't seem to be an option anymore. Assuming it would have worked in the first place.

Hopefully, this makes sense to someone. Otherwise, I guess I'll be running 6.4014 and 6.8.0 separately.

Thanks!

Something I've tried to get Avaya to "fix". Especially with the J100 series phones and having to go from 1.5 to 2.0 before converting to H.323. According to Avaya you will never have this issue again (of course you have it now) and should never have to perform multiple release upgrades. I don't think this is reality but they didn't seem to want to listen. Even the 1600 series "value edition" endpoints supported the $appname variable.

Thanks Jimbo. That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, that's what we get for not staying current.

Thanks!
