Hi everyone !

I'm so curious that I decided to try to convert an H323 9608 to SIP to try to connect it to my IPO.
I've put firmware files in my primary dir and change SIG to SIP on the phone.
Upgrade process seemed to work well until the final reboot for "Upgrading Application" where I get an error message "Network problem. Can't obtain files. Rebooting ..."

And the phone is rebooting again and again with the same error message.

At this stage the "* to program" is not available to set back the SIG to H323.

I tried to capture traffic between phone and IP Office but I can't find out what file is missing.

Does anybody have an idea on how to revert back to H323 (or finish upgrade to SIP) ?

Best regards,
PkDeV

First of all -> SIP firmware is useless on the IPO!
I think it is looking for other firmware than you have.
I managed to do this on a 9608 so look in the logs of your fileserver and find out where it is looking for and rename the needed firmware on your fileserver.

I've used these to convert the phone to SIP

One nice thing is that it will still only require a standard IP Endpoint license, but I don't see any point in using SIP instead of H.323 since you loose so much functionality unless you plan on building custom phone screens.

This is the package i'm using too.
What file server did you used ? Did you upload all the content of the ZIP or just 96x1upgrade and firmwares ?

with IPO as a file server I get this message in monitor:

12:14:05 269912786mS HTTP: 192.168.99.53(35508) HTTPSession: SendErrorResponse Code: 403, Entity: AVAYA 96xx SIP access not enabled

I'm going to try with another file server

I use an Apache server so I can try different firmware on multiple systems.

The IPO Embeded file server will refuse to issue files if the user agent requesting the file is “Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0)”

The IPO Embeded file server can therefore not be used to flash a 96xx SIP phone back to H323.

I tried to log this with AVAYA but got the responce of 96xx SIP Phones are not supported.
I would have expected the IPO to flash the phone back to H323 but no it just point blank refuses to hand out the firmware.

OK. I finally get the phone updated to SIP using a IIS as file server.
Now trying to register the phone to my IPO before getting back to H323 :)

pkdev, you can do this and you can even use it as a remote phone but no integration at all.
It is basically an analog phone.
I used a power user license and as a SIP remote worker.
