96x1 Screensaver images are not working anymore after firmware upgrades

so i have installed and configured many of systems and have used the .jpg dozens of times with success. recnetly ive noticed that my 96x1 phones are no longer picking new scrennsavers files or old ones for that matter (if you clear the phone). this is noticed on CM 6.x and 5.2 systems. has anyone noticed that newer firmware has changed requiremtns for the file types? i see the file transferring to the phones (http 200) and also see in logs within Utiltity server/apache/mviptel whcih are the differnt files servers i use for differnt systems.
i have the file as a .jpg or .jpeg adn the size varies but all are 320 x 45-120 depending the image.

Did you put the JPGs in subfolders on the UtilityServer? I've experienced problems on this, if the JPG is in the "custom" folder of the Utility Server 6.0.1. With 6.2 the JPG file is put into the root-folder and works again.

Try (if possible) a "real" webserver and put the JPG in the root folder.
