9620L VPN stuck on Building VPN Tunnel 5 sec

Hi!

I have a problem with the 9620L in VPN mode. It is gettings stuck on Building VPN Tunnel 5 sec.

I have multiple 5610´s and 2 9640´s running on the same VPN router (cisco) and it works, with the exact same settings.

What could be wrong? could it be a bug in the 9620? i have tried 2 different 9620´s.

What do you see in the router?
My experience is that 5 or 6 seconds is the moment that the tunnel is build.
When it takes more then 10 seconds it will fail.
So there must be something going on in the phone or router.

Tunnel DOWN_NEGOTIATING

Thats all i see on the router.
Take a different phone, even a 8640, put on the same IP with all the same VPN settings, behind the same router, bechind the same internet connection, everything works dandy!

Can you try downgrading it and try again.
I think it is a firmware issue in the latest 6 and 7 software.

Hi tlpeter. I would love to, but I cant seem to figure out where to find the right firmware that actually works for this 9620, on the IP office. My provider says nothing exists..

Can you help? Which firmware version should i try and where to get it?

You could try older CM firmware.
I do not have any other firmware.

Wil my 9620 even register on an ipo with a older CM firmware installed?

It will build the tunnel if you are lucky.
When it does then upgrade it with firmware form 6.0.8

Now i have tried to give the phone this firmware:
08-Dec-2009 9600 Series IP Telephone Software Release 3.0 Service Pack 2

But i dont see any VPN setting in it!

You do not need it.
When it has that firmware then upgrade it again but then with the formware from 6.0.8

Then it should have working VPN firmware.

Did it:

1: Downgraded the phone to 3.0 sp2
2: booted the phone again
3: Upgraded to 3.1.1 which is included in 6.08
4: setup the VPN tunnel
5: Phone rebooting after "Building vpn tunnel 5 sec"

Did it, and still the same problem!

any suggestions? Tried this on 2 phones btw.

Ill open a support case with avaya then, theres probably nothing else to do...hope to hear from someone who has a fix for this, if possible....

Hi I am trying to configure a 9620L to a netgearDg834 router I get as far as exchanging keys and no furhter I am now trying a Cisco router what is the config for the vPN on the router is it easy VPN server

Talked to my colleague the other day and he has had this running, bur with all the config in the 46xxsettings file instead of configuring it directly ion the phone, like I had. I cant see how it should make any difference, but ill give it a go later this week.
