Hi

Can't seem to find the answer if the 9611G support Bluetooth? or with an adapter?

General search and Avaya fact sheets seems to conflict.

Avaya fact sheets says 9611G - yes with adapter (but no mention of part code)
Manual says no!
Some other technical docs says yes integrated.
General internet search has a mix of the about!

Just wondering if anyone knows the official answer? we want to use 9611G with Bluetooth headsets, if there is an adapter then this will be fine.

Thanks

There is no integrated Bluetooth on the 9611G. Avaya does not sell a Bluetooth adapter for that model. You would need to find a Bluetooth gateway from a 3rd party.

Thanks, has anyone used a 3rd party adapter if so would be appreciated if you can let me know manufacture model etc.

I usually use DECT/Bluetooth headsets that have EHS so you can control the phone.
Guess the point of having a bluetooth adapter would be that you can connect any headset to the phone.

I think a 3rd party adapter for Bluetooth will be as expensive as a DECT headset with EHS connector. And DECT will cover a higher distance.

Indeed, we always recommend DECT headsets, fit and forget and much better range (if that's important) :)

The idea of Bluetooth is that the users have one device when they are using softphone/ipad and when they are back in the office.

That may seem practical, but you'll find it better to use separate devices in practice I think :)

You can buy a multi-device headset so you can use the same for desk phone, PC and mobile.

I understood it as they want to connect their Walmart headsets to their phones =)

At least Jabra and Plantronics have headsets that you can connect to multiple devices and they work quite well, the price may not be that attractive though.

We had a customer try similar, in reality people leave them at home, lose the charger, forget to charge them etc etc and they end up with 2 devices anyway :)

Yepp, mine was in the wrong place about 50% of the time [smile]
