9608 VPN to RV042

Do any of you know if the Avaya IP phones can successfully tunnel to a VPN gateway that DOESN'T do DHCP over IPsec? I'm guessing not because some software VPN clients, such as Shrewsoft, ask if you want to assign a virtual address but the VPN phone doesn't have an option like that.

STAY AWAY FROM THE RV042!!!!!!!! They will lose their configuration! I had over 50 of them deployed and we are slowly swapping them out. I have had 9608s connect to them.

Yes, I've had a few of the RV042 crap out - we've probably installed 30 or 40 ourselves. But you were able to get the 9608 to connect via VPN? Any chance you could share your settings?

I would have to find which customers that was and take a look. We were primarily using the RV180 with XAUTH for VPN phones on the small side but they did away with the 180. As I recall for the RV042 it was just a basic VPN config. I will look.
