So upgraded phone to latest release with ipo at 8.1.63
The VPN option was gone after upgrading the phone.

added the second file 96xxvpn.txt, modified 46xxsettings.txt to point to the new file if group at 876, put phone at group 876 rebooted...

And still nothing the phone does get the 96xxvpn.txt file as i get an error with the mcipadd (call server adress) which i corrected in the file...

mute craft no vpn options

menu no vpn settings...

Any ideas ?

That is because the VPN never worked on the 9608, 9611 and 9641 so the option has been taken out. For a VPN phone use a 9620 phone.

Indeed 9608 Phones never worked corectly with VPN. Avaya couldn't fix it, so they just removed the VPN option in later firmware.
You can use the 9608 as remote H323 phone, or get a 9620/30/40/50 phone, VPN works with them.

I beg to differ, i have many installs with the 9608 as a remote vpn phone that work flawlessly, and apperently yes they took out that option but they`re going to bring it back in 9.0... I`m just surprised they took it out since obviously it was working for some people, nice to kown beforehand though, i won`t upgrade my clients that use the 9608 vpn function or they will just stop working now, have to wait for 9.0! Geez avaya...

Don't misunderstand, we are talking about the build in VPN client in the phone and not the "VPN" solution introduced in version 8.0.
