Hi all,
Try to make this as short as possible.
Phone system is a 8.1, have numerous IP phones in different locations 9608s & 1616s all using VPN.
Trying to add another IP Phone 9608 via Remote Extension, in a house just to save having to have more equipment & cost by not using another VPN router.
Just to give the details, location A has the phone system, digital & 1616 IP phones.
Location B, just across town from location A has 5 1616 phones off a VPN.
Location C, located out of my state, has 2 9608 phones using VPN.
Locations D & E each have 1 1616 phone using VPN. Located in two different states.
Got the IT guy to open required ports for the remote phone, tested it first in my office, all came up & working good.
Noticed then only location B's phones were down. Luckily, at least, in the same town.
Went onsite all saying "Discover xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" checked programming in the phones, still not working.
Deleted my new STUN settings I used for the remote phone, had to reboot system to save.
Phones (at location B still) came up saying "invalid password press #"
Kept trying password, went in Manager to change passwords, even deleted an Extension/User & recreated it.
Still invalid password.
Then I disabled (unchecked) my H323 Remote Extension Enable, again had to reboot to save.
Phones said invalid password, pressed #, entered password & phone(s) came up & working.
Obviously now my remote phone still in my office is down now, everybody else is good.
I have plenty of IP endpoints available.
My questions are, can you have a remote phone with others on a VPN, & why did just location B go down, but all others stayed working.
Sorry so long, just wanted to give all the details.
Thanks to all replies.
