Hello Everyone!

I have a silly little question...

I want to change the back light timer on my 9600 phones. I have done it before but can't recall what I'm doing wrong.
I know I go into the active directory of manager and edit the 46xxsettings.txt file. But when I hit save, it prevents me from doing so. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Did you reboot the Phone to let it get the 46xxsettings.txt file again?

I did reboot the phone but the issue is that after I altered the 46xxsettings.txt file it will not let me save it. It keeps saying access denied when I try to save it.

Thanks!

Avaya did something stupid when using manager to access the SD card.
All files are red-only when the SD card is active, if you de-activate the card you cannot access it through Manager.
So what is the use of the SD card access?
Take the SD card out of the IP Office and put it in a card reader, edit the 46xxsettings file and put the card back in the IP Office.
The IP Office can run two hours without a SD card.

Oh man, that is very stupid on the behalf of Avaya. I guess that's why the hold music did not upload either through active directory on manager.

Thanks!

Hmm, what folder would the 46xxsettings.txt be on the SD card. I looked in the primary, seems to be none.

Thanks

On the SD card under system directory in the sub folder Primary

Their may not be a file as the system can auto generate one, if this is the case edit the file on your management PC (in the IP Office Manager Directory) and upload this to the SD card.

The default location is the primary folder.
But by default it is not there and the IPO sends an auto generated file.
When you put one in then it will send that one.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have pasted the config file onto the system SD card. Upon phone restart, it shows the phone pulling the file from the IPO IP address. For some reason, the backlight still does not follow the timer.

Thanks!

Did you remove the ## in front the of line with the command?
You need to otherwise it won't work.
