Greetings all, hoping I might get lucky and someone here might have an idea.

Issue as follows -
Intermittently, 9508 phones will have a continuous tone while speakerphone is active.
Tone sounds like a keypad button is being held down, is the best way I can describe it.

If you unplug/plug in the phone, the issue clears for a period of time, but it does come back.

I have verified internal wiring/path (ran a new cable for 1 phone), swapped phones, and have now swapped ports on the IPO.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

IPO - 11.0.4.2

Thanks in advance

Just a couple thoughts....

1) I know that back in Rel 7, there was one minor upgrade release that had a similar issue with the 9500 series phones. THe only fix was an upgrade.

2) Have you tried turning the speaker volume all the way down, then gradually bringing it back up?

3) Try muting the phone while on speaker to prove that it's not a feedback issue.

Sorry, that's all I've got at the moment.

Sometimes, I feel like a kindergartner missing out on recess, because certain kids won't shut up and get in line.

Do you have more then 1 card with digital ports? If so is it happening on all cards or just one card?

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

that used to happen on digital ports sometimes when they were upgraded and the steps were not taken to expand the memory.

Have you tried turning off the echo cancellation on the 9508 phone under settings ?

Press HOME (Key with The A on the button, exact center of the phone)
Press arrow down button to ADVANCED OPTIONS, press OK
Press arrow down button to AUDIO, Press OK.
Press arrow down button to ECHO CANCELLER, Press CHANGE to turn off.
Press SAVE.
Press BACK, Then EXIT.
