9508 Speaker phone muffled 2

I have a customer that in spite of having tow Polycoms, insists on holding conference calls in their office on speakerphone. There are usually a few people standing around the desk. They claim that the party at the other end complains that the audio they hear is muffled to the point of not being able to hear them.

I did a quick search here and did not find anything on point.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Disable echo cancellation on the phones

There is a known issue with a corresponding technical tip

The 9508 are full duplex but they need to be on the lastest releases.
When they where introduced in 7.0 they where half duplex.

are they 9508 like in the subject or 9608 like in the post?
