Hello everyone,

Try to make this as short as possible.
Have a customer with a 9.1.12, 9508 phones, SCN to 6 other locations.
This is for the president of the company & he likes to wonder out of his office & would like to get important calls while out of his office. He stays in the building, just goes to other people's offices.
So we tried a headset for him yesterday & he don't like that because he can't screen his calls.
Now we are thinking for him to try a cordless phone with caller ID.
Problem I'm having is I see (and tested) an analog Ext. don't work with a coverage or bridge appearance.
I tried the internal twinning & that won't work because, that eliminates anyone from voice announcing to his 9508 phone.
Both the 9508 & cordless just ring.

Any ideas/answers would be appreciated.

Thanks

Forgot to mention, I know we could do a forward button, but I don't think he would like (& would forget)to push that on & off every time he leaves his office.

Thanks again

Try mobile twinning but to the second extension.

Dig around the Manager help for the old coverage group feature.

@rcc1000 Mobile twinning to his mobile/cell phone? It can be set up to send the original caller id. When he returns to his office he can even push the twinning button to retrieve the call back on his 9508 seamlessly.

Thanks, Tim

Thanks for the help.
That's what I needed. Now he can see the number calling him all the time.
I just setup a cordless phone for him to carry around. With the Mobile Twinning turned on his digital phone to the cordless Ext.

Would anyone know the caller ID he gets on that cordless phone has the number of whose calling his digital phone,
but the name is always his name of his digital phone.
It never shows the correct name of whose calling his digital phone, on the cordless phone.
If I call the cordless phone's Ext. direct, then it shows correct name & number.
I had to enable the "Send original calling part info for Mobile Twinning" under System & Twinning. To get the number part to work.
Just wish the correct name would also send, instead of always his own name.
Is that just how it is or is there any other thing to try/do.

Thanks again

One possibility if you can get a morning when the boss is out would be to see if things improve if you swap the role.

That is, remove the mobile twinning on the deskphone. Then set the cordless to mobile twin to the deskphone. Make a call to the cordless and see if the name display on the twinned deskphone works any better.

If so, you may need to work out how to swap the extension numbers around or persuade the boss to use the cordless extension number as his main number.

Meanwhile, what type of trunks (SIP?) as that may have some affect. And what model of cordless. My experience of most DECT phones is they are able to update the displayed caller info once a call connects and that may be a factor here.
