My idiot suppervisor is wanting to use a generic account to log into a 2k adv server. We are able to do so in nt5,5.1 but not in 98. We are trying to use an api call to wnetaddconnect and it is coming back connection denied. the connection will work, if and only if the user name and password are sinc-ed with our netware server. I don't want to run the gateway service through netware for security and packet routing issues I don't want to deal with.

Any idea's would be appriciated

just so i understand...you're logging into a 98 workstation with a generic account and trying to make a connection to a 2K server with a different account? please clarify...thanks.

Users will be logging in to a Netware box as thier primary server. Our application will be hitting a database that is on a seperate 2k box. My supervisor didn't want to buy the licenses for all employees, so I am using a generic account for the application to use. Our attempts to logon, are successfull with a NT operating system. However, no connection has been established using 98. When attempting to hit the server it comes back with not a valid address.
