911dialing

I have currently a point to point T-1 coming from my main office (Opt. 81C Line side T-1) to a Norstar. From that we are stripping off 16 analog trunks to the key system. I don't think this is set up properly for dialing 911 though, any suggestions as to what would be the best way to set this up? Do I give them a seperate key with a POTS line for emergency calls? Or is there a better way?

you could have norstar user dial 911 and you route call to local police dept with the norstar routing

How would I set that up? Currently they dial a 9 to get outside line (which is really from the far end that they are getting dial tone).

I have a MICS but either T-1 release 1, ot DR 3.0 The tech FAQ references version 6.1. Can this still be done on the version I have?

yes the routing will still work
