We recently installed a PRI and the place is gigantic with more than one business existing, however everyone is using the same PRI for outbound dialing. The place is almost a campus and at the other end of the complex they have a different address. Is there any way that I can break these channels up(ie: dialout code, pool button, etc)so that I can send a different number out for 911? I have been getting several questions regarding 911 lately and I REALLY need to get some solid info on this topic with the Magix and DID's......does anyone know where I can research this...and please don't suggest the Avaya website. Thanks in advance.

If all your DID's are in the same area/exchange, then the Magix or Legend can be configured to send the station specific DID out the PRI on-the-fly. If the local telco has a product like PS/ALI (public safety/automatic line identificaiton, which is SBC's product), then you can program a specfic address and location within the building to display on the 911 center's screen. Regulations for 911 are typically governed at the state level.

So then its mostly done through the CO? Will I be able to associate two separate addresses on one PRI? What are the partitions for in the Magix programming software? Do you know where I can research this thoroughly? Thx

the e911 lookup stuff is all on the CO/carrier side, but the customer (usually) has access to a web interface to udpate the location information. You can have address per DID, and you can have more than just an address (i.e. 2nd floor room 27, 100 main street, blah blah). One vendor is although I've not used them. I would go to the Public Utility Commission for my state, or check your LEC's web site. SBC's products can be found
