Just installed an IPO 500 v 4.1.12, Vmail Pro, and has eCas Call Accounting. Customer is a 200 bed nursing facility so 911 is called quite often.

Their old Mitel phone system would send a display message to the receptionists' phone anytime some called 911. It would tell her what extension dialed the number so she could direct the emergency staff to the room of the patient that called 911.

I know that I could send customer an email notification that 911 was dialed through my eCas software but customer wants it to display on the phone.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't E911 be a solution?

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Have you considered Account code recording, by setting up the CLI to 911 an AutoRecord will get kicked off. If an AutoRecord module is created, it will be invoked when an automatic recording starts. A notification could then be sent from the callflow to the secretary in the form of an email and\or a recording of the call.

you could also have a play with a message short code I discovered.

Sort Code: *890*XXX (doesn't work with N!!)
Feature: DisplayMsg
Tel No.: N";PLEASE CALL: "E (the ; is very important!!)

When you dial the code, it will show on the other phone PLEASE CALL: XXX with MWI turned on. Lifting the handset and replacing will cancel it.

I would have to play around alot and am as busy as hell at the moment but it might do something for you

That can be done with a duvoice v-mail system using ip phones by modifing the 46xxsettings. I've got this set up at a motel. If an extension calls 911 it will alert and display on the checkin clerks phone or phones the extension that made the 911 call.

make a 911 shortcode and send it to a huntgroup in that huntgroup have the receptionist AND a forwarded extension, the forwarding is to 911.
Then you get the call at the reception desk and 911 simultaneously but the receptionist could intercept the call, which might be illegal in some states, or just notice that there is a call to 911 and alert the nurses to check on the room.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Westi, you can only forward hutgroup calls if it's a sequential ring or rotary, collective ringning will not forward the call to 911.

I have contacted Avaya and supposedly there is a DevConnect Application for 911...I will take a look and post if any solutions are found.
