I have a customer that has a BCM 400 with a remote site with only IP phones. They have a PRI for phone service but the service provider cannot provide info on 911 calls based upon outbound caller ID. What have others on this list done to get around this issue?
That is the only way. I have a couipel of locations doing that, I subscribe to E-911 and can provide address information per phone based on caller ID. Are you saying your provider doesnt offer E-911?
I know this is an old thread but it seems most closely related to our issue.
We have 3 remote offices which all use IP phones that terminate in our main office to a BCM400 which is connected to 2 PRIs.
If someone calls 911 from any phone (main office or remote) is currently shows the same callerID info - that of the Main office (where the BCM is located) - then emergency personnel are sent to our main office.
What is the best way to differentiate between offices for 911? Would I need to assign a different callerID number for each office and then forward the different addresses to our E911 service or is there a better or easier way?
TIP of the Day: Don't allow users to use 9911 for a voicemail password
