I have a 3300 with a digital T1. For some reason i can get 9911 to work but 911.
Leading digit is 9, return dial tone is YES.
then I have "11" for 911, UNknown and sent to a route list.
When its dialed, nothing happens, just sits and waits.
I have tried 911, unknown and my route list, but same thing.
for 9911, I have digits to follow 0, and delete 1. That works.

Im sure its something simple... usually is.

Leave the ARS entry for 9911 that works, and put in a speed call for 911 to 9911.

Have you checked that the Digits before Outpulsing on a route is set to 3 and that the Digit Modification against that route is set to do nothing?
The workaround is fine, but this should work.

9911 with 0 to follow and 911 with 0 to follow is how I program my emergency routes. If you program "Unknown" it will wait for your inter-digit timer to expire. You could try 911 followed by # and see if that routes.

911 + unknown to follow will indeed look to your interdigit timer before outpulsing the call. However, this works as pretty good 911 accidental misdial trap. What you need to do is shorten your inter-digit timer down to 5 seconds (no less than 5, no greater than 7)

This will cause "911" calls to wait 5 seconds (looking for extra digits in the event of a misdial)
then build 10 speedcall entries, 9110, 9111, 9112, 9113, 9114, etc. and send all of them to some non-existent number (or send them to voice mail with a recording on it informing the caller of their apparent accidental misdial and say something like, "If you have an emergency, please hang up and dial 9-911"
