I have a 900 system rollout that needs to be completed by Feburary. Not all systems are identical but the primary operating system for all 900 will be Windows 98 SE.

I'm contemplating on what is the very best and most efficient way to go about prepping these 900 systems. I've thought about creating a regular Ghost image of a standard Windows 98 installation and configuring the unique peripherals to each system, but this seems a bit time-consuming.

Any thoughts or recommendations? I believe there are 200 systems that are identical and for those I will use an image, but the remaining 700 have only a handful of identical systems.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Use the same image, boot them to safe mode, remove HKLM ENUM key and let them sort it out.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

As a heads up - Microsoft is stopping support of Win98 and is creating no new hot fixes/patches, etc for it. So if a new security hole is found (seems like one a month!) These computers may be susceptible to attacks. But if they cannot see the internet and the server is well protected then you should be ok.
