Hello All,

I recently installed a IP500v2 in Basic Mode to replace a Partner ACS the customer had. The issue I am having is related to forwarding calls to a Calling Group. I am learning to despise Basic Mode but I am stuck with it for this install.

The system has 5 Analog Lines that are directed to extension 10 during normal operation. If the user at extension 10 is out sick they would like all of the calls to ring on all phones in the office. I placed all of the extensions into Calling Group 4 and put a Forward button on extension 10's phone but I cannot enter 74 for calling group 4 as the destination for all Forwarded Calls. It says that this is not a valid destination. Is it not possible for an extension to forward all calls to a group? I also tried to setup a button for call coverage and setting it to 74 but this was rejected as well.

Put a Night Service button on extension 10

Then add the other extensions to the Night Service Group

Manual says:
When the phone system is set to night service mode, incoming external calls other than those routed by DDI are rerouted to the users in the night service group.

Hey Billx,

Thanks for the idea, I currently have a night service button on Extension 10 and there is an auto attendant set up to answer after 2 rings when night service is enganged. They use this when they are closed. I guess I could increase the rings to 4 and they could catch the call before it hit the auto attendant.

Forwarding an extension to a calling group was never a feature of a real Partner system, so it's not implemented in basic mode. It's trivial to change the ringing on extensions, so just teach them to do that from Ext. 10 through Central Telephone Programming.
