I have an old 8x24 MICS XC 1.0 system that the time and date will not update. I can change it in programming and it will update system wide but it will not update to the next minute, hour, day, etc. My question is this, is that timer in the KSU or the Data Cartridge? Meaning, can I simply replace the KSU and move the Data Cartridge over to the new KSU and be done with it or is it the Data Cartridge that is the issue? This system is 2 hours away from me and I want to have all the needed equipment with me. I want this to be a quick and easy fix because I will be replacing it with VoIP in October but the time and date is a big issue with my client.

It's the clock chip on the MICS that's gone bad. Programming is held on the MICS motherboard, so moving the software cartridge will not preserve the programming. Unless you have a backup with Norstar Manager that you can restore to another control unit you'll have to reprogram from scratch.
