8x24 RING and NOT APPEAR

Have an old 8x24 and I am trying to get it programmed to RING and not RING & APPEAR. I have the lines in POOL-A. I have done this a long time ago but I forgot. They have 8 POTS lines and just show 2 IC keys on each set. The config menu is so old I can't remember what part to program in.

If I remeber right, A. Config - 2. Line access - show set - enter DN - show -line assign - unassign lines - next - ringing - show. Set lines to ring not ring. I think lines 1 & 2 are assigned at default , but you can remove them, then set the lines to ring. Been awhile as well, but I still run into the old DR's every now and then.

that's what I thought. However when you on a sign the line the ringing option disappears. But I know that I did this couple years ago for the same customer.

they only have a few handsets and four or five line so I made this default the whole thing and start from scratch in case something is corrupted

It's been awhile for me too but I don't think the 8x24 has that capability as it's just ring or no ring. The appear only, ring only etc wasn't introduced until the cics/mics.

The 824 cannot do Ring only. The ringing option for a line on a DN does not show up if the line is not assigned.

There is a way around it. If you have no ringing anywhere assign for a line, it will follow the DRT settings immediately and will ring on the intercom of the line's prime set.
