On a DR5 there are 2 1F memory caps inside the software cartridge. These are available from

If you have a newer DR5.1 cartridge, swap it out an re-program. I would also advise them to upgrade before the parts get too hard to find. Nortel is offering Loyalty rebates on upgrades to 6.1, CallPilot & T series phones.
