Hey guys,

I have my 8X24 KSU and 66 block in hand and something is confusing me. Exactly where do the wires go? Just so you know I have 4-pair, cat-3 cable to sue for this installation.

On the 66 block, the W/B wire is on the 4th hook of the first row, and the B/W wire is on the 4th hook of the second row. Both of these make up pair 1 or extension 221. Which cable goes on which pin? Thanks in advance

Not sure i understand your question, but i'll try. If you have a 66M150 block, your pins are split in the middle. The left side and the right side should start on the top pins with White/Blue(pin 1) and end on the bottom with Slate/Violet(pin 50). The cable is paired, so white blue/blue white would punch down on the first pair of pins, with white blue on top, and blue white below. I dont know if you are trying to terminate the cables from the switch or if you are trying to connect the station cables to the switch. Can you give more info?

I believe I am trying to connect the station cables to the switch. I'm using 4-pair cable, I only see where to put the 2 pairs for the extension. All I simply want to know is how I interface my cat-3 cable with the 66 block, and then to the designated sets.

Thanks

Ok, if you are using one cable for each phone, you would punch down the white/blue pair of your cat 5 cable to the 66 block on the switch cable, extension side. This would be the first extension, port 101. Then the next cable would go on the White/orange pair, port 102 and so on. Normally, you would want your cables punched down on a seperate 66 block and then use jumper wire to feed your extensions to the switch.

I still seem confused! Sorry! I already have the 50-pair amphenol cable wired from the switch to the 66 block - what I want to know is the wiring for the cable that goes from the 66 block to the phone I want.

3 questions i need you to answer.
1. is this a new install?
2. how many phones do you wish to connect to your phone system.
3. How many cables?
I can give you more info on what to do, if i know what you are dealing with.

1. Yes this is a new install

2. For the moment I am connecting 4 phones, but will add some later (I have the ability to do so)

3. I am just wiring the lone cable from the block to the phone itself. So with 4 phones there will be 4 different cables.

Hope this helps, and thanks again

Ok, on each cable you must wire the jacks to the white/blue pair. On the 66 block, punch down the white blue pair of each cable to each extension you are going to use. Example: your first cable's white/blue pair punches down on your white/blue pair of the extension's cable. That is Ext21 or 221 depending on the lenght of the dn(ext. number). The next cable's white/blue pair will punch down on the white/orange pair of the extension block which would be the next extension number 22 or 222 and so on.
