8i installation and Pentium 4

I see there is some problem installing 8i server and pentium 4. I checked the forum and saw some posts, but
I didn't find a resolution to the problem.

In one of my posts on the earlier thread I mention Metalink document 131299.1. Please take a look. It describes a couple of work-arounds to the Pentium 4 installation bug.

I fixed it with the following work around

Copied the contents of the cd to a temp directory.

located all files in temp directories with symcjit.dll and renamed them to
symcjit.old

ran install from \install\win32 in temp directory.
