When trying to load a 3.5.9 config to a 4.1.4 system, I received the following:
"invalid header cksum"

I have succesfully moved over configs from 3.5.x to 4.1.x before without issue. Anyone know what this may mean?

And to let you all know, I tried booting from pcmcia, and also from flash. Same problem. I have tried two different PCMCIA cards.

Let me know if anyone has thoughts ideas before I have to manually configure everything again.

Thanks very much,
HH

The configuration file of an ERS 8600 is a flat ASCII file. I don't believe you could get such an error from a configuration standpoint.

Perhaps you are getting an "invalid checksum" when trying to load the agent code? If this is the case then you should probably re-download the software and make sure that you update the diagnostic code (boot code) prior to loading the agent code.

Cheers!

No, we're merely booting the .cfg file
We have an existing 4.1.4 working system with good boot and image.
Any other thoughts are welcome.
Thanks, HH

Hmmm... perhaps it's semantics but you boot image files not configuration files.

Example; boot /flash/p80a4140.img

The switch then looks for a config.cfg file in your filesystem for its configuration. Perhaps you could attached the console output (of the switch booting and the invalid checksum error) for us to review.

If you rename the config.cfg file does the switch boot fine? Could you also post your boot.cfg file; specifically do you have the option "verify-config" set to false in the boot.cfg file.

Cheers!
Mike
