Can anyone tell me what the Buffer Utilization is as it relates to the Passport 8600? I'm a little fuzzy on what it actually is referring to. What is a 'normal' range for it?

Thanks

I confess I was thinking of the port egress queues which are buffers, but Nortel refers to them as Queues.

This Manual refers to the Packet Capture tool (PCAP) buffers as buffers, they should only be active is you were doing packet Captures.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

When it regards buffer utilization when you do a "show sys perf" then it is the cpu buffer utilization.
This number can vary but should be nearly zero when cpu utilization is low.
