We use an 8528 system at the office. Recently an employee added his IP phone to the system.

Whenever forwarding to a specific sales person, it rings(and lights up/forwards) to both the person mentioned, and this other employee's new IP phone.

Clues:
These forwards are generally via the programmable buttons, but have the same result when transferring the extension # input manually.

They both have unique extension numbers on the top left of their phone displays.

The reverse is not true---When forwarding to the IP phone, it does not ring the other employee.

----

Any ideas on how to fix this?
Is there some way that the extension #'s are linked together???

It sounds like the digital phone ext. has the twinning feature, Dynamic Extension Enabled (depending on the version it might be named Personal Call Routing)
You can open the database and look in the USER Account folder for that digital ext. See if the DEE flag is ON. Then go to the tab within the USER's account for Associated Extensions. If the IP phone ext. is listed in Step one you can right click to remove it. I'm not sure how the IP phone ext. is associated but that would cause the scenario you are describing.
You can also dial the feature code to turn the Dynamic Ext. feature Off at the phone. The default code to toggle on or off is 364.
