Recently, we've been having problems with 8500s not going through the POST boot. To be fair, these servers have different hardware specs (however, same memory chips) but this seems to be a re-occuring problem accross the board. we've known that re-seating the memory board and modules usually and most often, is the quick fix when this happens. But, for a mid 5-figure machine, it's hard to imagine that this could be the only solution. Does anyone know if there is a common problem or flaw with these machines?

Try removing and re-seating all processors and PPM's in the server. Make sure you apply good pressure when putting the procs back in.

What kind of memory? Do the assembly numbers match for all the DIMMS within a given bank (they need to)?
