850 wasting ink

Our Phaser 850 is wasting lots of the ink sticks. The waste tray has a quarter inch of melted ink just after this weekend, and it should have been on standby most of the time. It never used this much ink in the past. Has anyone had a similar experience and a cure?

maybe the power went off and on over the weekend. that has happened to me.

PTD100 is probably correct, power spikes will cause the unit to recycle, and go through the purge\wipe several times
Get a UPS for this printer, or just leave a door open when you leave at night!

My problem may be similar to yours. I went into the printer's web interface and tweaked the warm-up and stand-by times of the printer to fit the printing needs in my lab. I am going to see if this helps preserve ink (in my particular case, yellow ink).

check if intelligent mode is on and thad energy star mode is off. Whit energy star on it is like turning the printer of. Whit intelligent ready the ink in the printhead stays warm and cleaning is not nessesary, keep also in mind thad if the printer is not used or poorly used there is a cleaning cycle every 7 day's. Dany
