The machine will print fine, but if I have the cover off and looking at it. The large "L: shaped metal thing is the culprit. It almost seems as if it cant find home position. Would this be a printhead issue or another electronic part? Any suggestions would be helpful. This machine is going to hell in a handbasket for all Im concerned but I need to get it working so any help is appreciated.

If during teh print process the printhead, which is attached to the large "L" shaped bracket , seems to slam forward then check the cap/wipe/purge assy alignment. The 2 belts on each side that move the assy into position, ensure they are tight, there is a pointer on each of the black pieces that are attached to the belts. On one side midway up the chasis where the assy rides up is a "-" mark, on the other is a "=" mark, rotate the clutch so the cap assy raises and teh pointer on the side with "-" line up. You will need to position the printhead back so the cap clears it. On the other side the pointer should be between teh marks that look like "=". that will ensure the cap assy is aligned, If not you will need to loosen the belt onthe left side(easiest) by removing the black rollerthat tensions the belt near the top that will give you slack to adjust it. Hopefully that will resolve your problem.

Thank you Marty.I'm gonna try that. You have definetely been the most help n these phasers...So thanks!
