8434DX phone accessing options

Found an old closed thread that had basically the same question, but no answer:

(The link mentioned in the previous thread is dead which may have answered my question.)

Some of the 8434DX's had a "Shift" button. On those phones, if you pressed <SHIFT>, <MUTE>, then dialed 35 it would allow you to change between 1 and 2 line dispay. Is it possible to access the same option on the version of 8434DX that has a "Ring" button instead of the "Shift" button?
