Will the 8400 still print even afer the maintenance kit has "expired?"

I've been getting the warning that there are 1000 pages left on this maintenance kit,900, 800... It's been looming over my head to get one already.

Yes, I ordered it. But will it just stop all printing when the page count drops to 0?

Yes. This is meant to protect the printer, and maintain print quality. The roller that you will replace is permeated with oil, which is applied to the drum (big silver thing) before the ink is applied, this allows the ink to be transferred to the paper properly. If you do not have the appropriate amount of oil, than the ink (and the paper!) will stick to the drum, causing awful things to happen. I hope your maint. kit arrives before it is too late.

Have a nice day today, and a better day tomorrow!!!

Thanks bisawest. I really didn't know how the maintenance kit really worked.

It should be here on Monday. Phew!
