When I am facing the 8400 from the front... On the left side towards the back... I now hear a noise that sounds like something is simply rubbing against a fan blade as it moves (not really sure if there even is a cooling fan there).

It does not sound like a grinding noise or even particularly awful. Just new and probable something I might be able to clean.

I couldn't see any major dust bunnies clogging the vents.

Can somebody point the way towards a diagram so I can take the panel off and do a little cleaning? I figured I'd ask before just taking things off. I haven't ventured inside this printer yet.

Thanks.

Take the top cover that is around the control panel. Use a small screwdriver and pop it up on each side. Then there are two torx scres on the side panel. One on the rear of the printer, the other under the panel you just took off. Then take off the side panel.

Easy enough.
