Wondering if anybody else can reliably print on a metallic cardstock (98lb cover). There is no foil- it just has that irridescent look to it. It is very smooth (too smooth?).

The problems are in feeding (I have to nudge each page individually or the roller just doesn't "catch" the page) and the print quality- normally neither or these are an issue at all for us and we use many different types of papers/weights/textures.

The quality issue is that if I try to use the Photo setting, it is as if there is too much ink and it just smears (I'll get a partial, double, or extra ghost image). "Enhanced" will work, but in this last run of 100 pages, I had to run the Ink Smear cleaning function at least 4 times. I guess the paper is too smooth and gets left on the silver drum?

Oddly, I tried the Plain Paper and Special paper types- that got me through instead of the Cardstock setting. I tried the Transparency setting and I got a darker color in the logo.

So does anybody succesfully use this paper (without taking an extra hour or two to baby each page and print only a few at a time)?

Or should I just chalk this one up to a non-compatible paper?

Thanks.
Nick
