Please help,
I bought an 840 phaser from a company that ran bankrupt.
Everyone in this company told me the printer worked fine
until the end.
When I first started the printer, it came up with the above error message. Is it possible that the transport caused this
error?
What is it that I have to do to get the printer work?

The drum maintenance home sensor did not actuate or change state as expected. The problem could be a DM clutch which is different from the 850, 860 and 8200. Or Maintenance tray possibly the pins, or the DM flag which is the round one on the right side behind I/O right, this flag falls off sometimes, its only held on by a plastic finger, you can reinstall it using a c clip. The part no. for the DM clutch is 401 0807 02. Later

Actually, the 401-0807-02 is the old part number for the Drum Maint Clutch, which is a single piece clutch, and these were prone to this failure. The newly redesigned DM Clutch, which is now 2 pieces, uses part number 650-4288-00.

The 840 uses a different DM clutch than the 850, 860 and 8200. I gave the correct part no. for an 840. Later
