Anyone heard of this? I have been going back and forth with one of the engineers here and he is telling me that Avaya has told him that you can configure a DL360 G8 server as an LSP. I have never heard of this. I have only heard that "servers" are ESS's. Is this something new? Can anyone clarify this?

Thank you,

It is possible - I think it was in CM6.3 OVA/VE too. It's just another server role setting as far as I know.

Yeah. You can. Like a S8300 with BSM+LSP, Survivable Remote template as opposed to Survivable Remote Embedded. Survivable Core is a ESS simplex with no BSM.

Survivable Core (ESS) versus Survivable Remote (LSP). Makes a difference primarily when dealing with Branch Session Managers versus Session Managers.

also makes a difference when surviving port networks/IPSI controlled gateways
