830 map for mercator V1.4.2(30) 1

I have been assigned to create a 830 Forcast map in mercator. I have not had to generate a map of this type and was wondering if there is a sample version out there somplace that i can use as an example. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bad news, 1.4.2 (30) is the base build of 1.4.2, is not Y2K compliant for date data, and has been discontinuer for several years. It is unsupported, so that if you have any issues (and there were 10 service packs to resolve many issue) you will get no support or patches. The current version is 7.5.1 and it will take a lot of work to update due to the number of changes. Also, 1.4.2 was only supported up to Windows NT Sp4, Win95 and Win98. BTW what ANSI X12 version of the 830 are you looking for? 1.4.2 may not have the version you are looking for if it is recent.

I know that it is no longer supported but this is the version that the client is using. they are using a 4010 version wich is supported in the version they have. I am between a rock and hard place on this. if you know anyplace I can get an example that I may be able to use as an example it would be apreciated.

If you open the Type Editor, and do a search on 830, you will find the structure for the document you need. Sounds like your client doesn't have a support contract (or maybe no license). If there are any dates in there, you might want to point out the potential problems your client will see.

The support contract with mercator expired 2 years ago, after the last set of maps were done. At the time they stated that they only needed 3 maps we filled this request now they need 6 more. Unfortunatly our support contract with them is still valid. I have the 830 type tree info from the 4010 version. My issue is in the creation of the map. I have done 850,810 and 997 maps but have never had to do a 830 and I am uncertain on what needs to be done.

Strange, two years ago current version was 6.7.1. Sound like you need to get specs from customer and trading partner.

That may have been the new version but they never upgraded to it they kept the old one that they had since 1997. This is whats making this so difficult.

You might want to point out the Y2K issues with the version they have. Could be a reason to get current. One transaction is much like any other as long as you have documentation and sample data for input & output.
We haven't devloped the psychic adapter yet
