827-v4 Rommon

I have a corrupt flash on a cisco827-v4 router.
When I try to load a new IOS via tftp (tftpdnld to be exact)
this is what I recieve:
rommon 3 > IP_ADDRESS=192.168.1.9
rommon 4 > IP_SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0
rommon 5 > DEFAULT_GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
rommon 6 > TFTP_SERVER=192.168.1.5
rommon 7 > TFTP_FILE= c820-v6y6.mz.123-17a.bin

monitor: command "TFTP_FILE=" not found

For some reason the router is stuck here:

rommon 2 > tftpdnld

IP_ADDRESS: 192.168.1.9
IP_SUBNET_MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT_GATEWAY: 192.168.1.1
TFTP_SERVER: 192.168.1.5
TFTP_FILE: c820-oy6-mz.123-16.bin
Upon "reset" command, the router continues to try and boot the corrupt flash. Is there anyway I can remove the corrupt flash from rommon> ?

I've done this procedure before and remember it worked quite well. Have you double-checked the obvious, i.e. your TFTP server is running, that it is not firewalled, the image you're specifying is located on there and in the location the TFTP server is configured to use?

Other than that, I'd probably be inclinded to source the c820-oy6-mz.123-16.bin image and put that on your TFTP server as that is what it is configured to look for. If it finds any valid image on TFTP, it should stop trying to boot from Flash.
