My company had a Meridian 1 Option 61 C, and on the terminal instead of going through the tedious task of Logging in, (LOGI) and entering a password....someone before me had set up the F4 button on the terminal keyboard, as when pushed, would login to the switch and bring the system to the prompt without entering a name or password.

We recently upgraded to Option 81C/1000M and of course the F4 key has been defaulted, and this no longer works. How would you go about assigning the keys on the terminal keyboard to get this to work again? So if I hit F4 it would automatically log me in.

Hope this is clear.

This is a function of the terminal not the PBX.

Press the setup Button (F3)
Arrow down to "Keyboard"
Arrow down to "Define Key"
Press the F4 key
define key
this should get you started
Don't forget to Save Key Definitions when done
