802.11b Roaming

Hello Everyone,

I am researching a project for my company that will allow our warehouse staff to use Windows Mobile based barcode guns.

Part of the requirement for this project is that the guns be able to roam between wireless APs.

What is the best way to setup the wireless network so that the warehouse users do not have to reconnect (or lose a telnet connection) when they move to another AP? Based on my testing we will need about 8 APs (6 in one building, two more in a building across the street)

What does your wireless singal need to go through? Walls, shelves, outside cement walls.
How far does it need to go?
Do you need coverage in the street between your buildings?
What is the material in the warhouse. How high, Is it stacked floor to ceiling?
