Does the new 801 CCNA use "real" subnetting techniques, ie, using Subnet Zero to get 4 subnets with 62 hosts on a class C with a 255.255.255.192 mask, not just two.

With pure subnetting, you have to throw out the all zero's and all one's subnets.. ie the .0 and .192 subnets.

thanks

bucknasty,
On the CCNA exam you could see both and the question will define what they are looking for, but it might be in a round about way.

Such as they might say something about the command "no subnet zero" and ask you use an address from a subnet.

If you do not understand the difference you could be using the wrong address from the wrong subnet.

Be ready and understand both !!!

Good luck !!
