I was informed there is some kind of list or web site that has 800 #'s that are scams or that charge some one rather than being toll free. I have a report in the call accounting system that lists 800 #'s dialed from this facility and wanted to cross reference the numbers to make sure none of them are scams. If some has a list or knows a site I can go to please advise.

Thank You in Advance!

If there is a "List" I have not found it, the Only thing I could "recommend" is looking for "werid" numbers Like a call to a 800 or any number number that Went on for a Hour or More, or calls that happen Late at night or weekends when nobody or very few people would ordinarily be around
those kind of calls should not be hard to track down the guilty parties, also checking things like calls to area code "809" one of the better sites for info on scams is scambusters.org it cover a wide variety of material from Credit card fraud, and other Scams

While working with Avaya I had a list, but don't have it now. I think that the AVAYA Definity helpline, now called System support, has a list.

I called the Avaya Fraud Department and they did not know of a list or had one.

I now I had a list around somewhere, but cant find it at the moment. I know the info is out hter on the web also. Here are a couple of examples:

212-540-####
212-550-####
212-970-####
These area code/prefix combination with various last four number combinations is left for someone via a secretary, PhoneMail, or on their digital pager. When you call this number back, you hear a recording and are charged $55.

1-800-847-3301
1-800-736-7786 National Psychic Network ($120)
This supposedly "free" call becomes a "charged" call after a brief message in which you are prompted to press a number. These particular numbers have been disconnected, but experts warn this type of illegal operation most likely will appear with a different 800 number.
