Hi, I have a dedicated PRI for the Avaya phone system and for some reason we are not able to dial the 800 numbers at all, all we get was "number busy Disconnect" Does this sound like the ISP issue? we don't have any issue receive calls (local and 800)also we don't have any issue call the local numbers too.

TIA

Do you have system shortcodes set something like this?

Assuming pots lines for local and T1 lines for long distance. Do you have a shortcode for long distance.
[9]1N; N Dial3k1 1 (line ID)

For local calls.
[9]N; N Dial 0

For 1800 calls.
[9]1800N; 1800N Dial 0
[9]1888N; 1888N Dial 0
[9]1877N; 1877N Dial 0 etc.

"The lack of understanding is the root of all problems

yes, I do have shortcodes for 1800 calls

Short code: [9]1800n; telephone number 1800n
Line group id 1
Feature dial
Locale

For Local Calls:

Short Code [9]510xxxxxxx
Telephone number 510N
Line group ID 1
Feature Dial
Locale

[9]ON; telephone number ON Feature Dial3k1 1 (line ID)

I couldn't dial the local number also, I need to put 1510 to dial it.

Do you have any of the extn's or groups starting 1 or 5 as by default you should not have to dial a 9 and it they want to do this then all you should have to do is add

9N

N

dial

line group 0

as a short code then when they press 9 it goes to the out side lines.

yes, I already have the 9N N dial Line group 0; I have about over 130 shortcodes; could it be the CUS unit doesn't function properly or the SmartJack issue?

Ok i would try a default unit with the isdn card in it and make test call also looking a the call status pro. If this works then you would know it is somthing in the programing of the system. I would put this back in and make test calls with the call status open then you could see hoe the two systems route. Are all the extra short codes for routeing outgoing calls?

I don't beleive you need the ? . Dial shortcode.
Can you dial L.D. and local but not 800 numbers?

"The lack of understanding is the root of all problems

I can dial the local by dial the 510, usually I just need to dial the number without the area code.

Are you sure your PRI accepts 800 traffic? If you have pots lines I would try to route to them to see if the call goes out.

It is fixed now; caused: the wet weather(Rain) damper the cables and the tech has to move the cables to the other pair of good cables and work fine afterward.

Thanks,

if the tech was from the telephone company that provides your pri that told you this, then i would say he lied. i doubt only 800 number calls would be blocked by this.

in response to ronromano. a litlle fishy, you are being kind.

He moved to another cablepair but probably a college altered something in the telco's switch as well.
And the telco tech was also diplomatic to cover his a*h for being there when all could have been done from remote!

to clarify:

I wasn't able to dial the local calls by just dial the 7 digits (if I dialed the complete 10 digits, it works); also no one can call my number if they just dial the 7 digits (if they dial the 10 digits, it works); 800 numbers don't work as well when I dial( I get number busy, disconnect);

yes, He moved to another cablepair but a college altered something in the telco's switch as well; then they test the line and it works fine.

Thank You All.

You will also have problems dialing 800 numbers is you are not outpulsing a full caller ID number or if your number comes up "unavailable" or "private".
