We are connecting some dumb terminals to rj45 10 wire mux ports on our HP Rp5470 server. Using a rj45 to DB25 male connector kit we are able to make the connection and get a login (VT100) only. To run our application the term type must be WYSE60. We have tried various setting on the terminal with no luck, (just garbled characters). Is there a setting on the server to set the term type for these ports to recognize wyse60?

# Terminal on the mux.
a5:3:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty2a6 H
a1:3:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty2a1 9600
#
~
"/etc/inittab"

Do you mean this?

Hi, thanks for the reply. We have since resolved the problem. The terminal config had to have the parity set to "7 even"

After that we were able to change the term type to wyse60

Thanks
