I am looking for ideas for backing up a one pim 2000 for 8 hours.

Per the NEC 2000IPS Config guide:

5.3 Battery Backup
For customers requiring battery backup, short-term and/or long-term options are available.
(1) Short-term option
Two 3.4AH batteries are required per PIM, and installed inside of each PIM.
Backup time is approx. 30 minutes when wireless service is not used and approx. 10 minutes when
wireless service is used in the system. The battery shall be locally provided.
(2) Long-term option
Two 24AH batteries are required per each 2 PIMs, and installed inside of Battery Module in a stack
basis. Backup time is approx. 3 hours when wireless service is not used and approx. 2 hours when
wireless service is used in the system. The batteries are varied depending on the requested backup
time. The battery shall be locally provided.

Why 8 hours?

After thinking about this, why use batteries. It would be cost prohibitive if this is a one time thing. Why not rent a portable generator. It sounds like there is going to be some sort of one time long term power outage
