8 Gb Flash drive can not access

Had Flash drive in USB port and booted PC,Dos program started running and said something was wroge with the Falsh drive and started doing some kind of scan. since then i can't access the drive. PC see's the drive using Windows Explorer but I just get an hour glass when I click on it. Any one know of a utility to restore it?

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

You try using Linux to access the files & save them somewhere else & then re-format the drive. Try a live Linux CD such as Puppy Linux:

Have you tried running scandisk on the drive? this may help.

Tried a few MBR repair programs and none seemed to work and then i tried CHKDSK again and this time it worked.
