8 character file names in DOS....how do you override?

Hey guys,
I'll make this quick. I want to make files in an Borland C++ for dos and I want to override the 8.3 filename system. How do I do it?

If you are using DOS, you cannot. The 8.3 filename limit is OS related, AFAIK.
