8.6 basic sip & advanced

So were upgrading from 4.3 to 8.6(2) and I'm trying to configure a Polycom 650 as my phone but have these 2 options, whats the difference and what do you recommend? As it stands i've got it configured as basic but havent got it working, think i need to configure some additional requirements.

advanced gives you more standard features that the basic does. I would configure it as basic first, then find out if the polycom can even support the advanced features.
The phone not registering is strictly a set up issue and has nothing to do with the basic vs the advanced set up.
