I am trying to change a data source in CR 8.5 to a different stored procedure. It is identical to the SP in the report, except has one additional field. I have added it to the report but can't delete the old one without deleting the fields. CR thinks the fields are {OldSPname.fieldname} and I can't figure out how to change that part. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Don't add and delete it.

Use Database->Set Location and point to the new Stored Procedure.

You would have been better off to just alter the existing SP and select Database->Verify Database

Hi synapsevampire! Thank you for your suggestion.
I should have clarified by saying that I tried that first. The fields in the report don't let go of the {oldSPname.field} structure even when I use database - set location and point to the new SP & verify.

We can't legally modify or rename the existing SP because of licensing issues. The good folks who sold us the ERP software think they've anticipated all our needs, and forbid it.

I think I did get a step closer to the solution since I posted my question by doing this:
1. Set an alias for the SP in the report to the new SP.
2. Set location & verify

Now, the fields on the report say {newSPname.field}, but when you run the report, it's blank!

I've never had Set Location fail, and you didn't state what happened when you tried it.

Fields in the report "not letting go" doesn't help me much.

I would guess that it's something to do with how you're doing this.

What database/connectivity?

If the current report is returning different data, then it sounds like you're pointing at a different SP now, so you're probably done, you just need to check the SP.
